Joydip De is currently working as a Ph.D. student under the guidance of Dr. Santanu Kumar Pal in the Laboratory of Smart Materials and Supramolecular Chemistry (LASMSC) Group, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali, Punjab, India. He did his B.Sc. in Chemistry (Hons.) in 2013 from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur under University of Calcutta, prior to join IISER Mohali as an integrated MS-PhD student. His research interests focus on the design, synthesis and characterization of discotic liquid crystals for optoelectronic applications.
